About Us

Romualda is a Spanish brand created by sisters Cristina and Mariana, painter and designer. The brand is the outcome of a restlessness and need to create felt by the two sisters. They always shared a passion for art and the beauty in nature, wanting to unite these two aspects of their life to create stunning, atemporal pieces that lasted generations and endured the test of time.

Created in 2020 Romualda started as a brand aiming to create iconic hand painted hats, pieces of art or sculptures to be worn in your everyday life. Since then, the brand's universe has expanded into accessories, ready to wear collections (christened Art-à-Porter inside Romualda) and swimwear. The collections are characterized by the prints and portraits hand painted by Cristina as well as the use of natural fabrics of the highest quality and their confection in the north of Spain.

Romualda's namesake was a Dutch artist that the sisters met as children in the desert of Rodalquilar, her reality was based in creating art while respecting the planet, feeding her spirit with oranges, nuts and rays of sun. Inspired by her ethos of loving and reverence for the world we live in, the sisters named the brand after her as a tribute to her art and the way in which she understood and perceived life.
